Sharing Your Testimony
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

I am a huge nerd. I love Star Wars, LOTR, the Chronicles of Narnia, Comic Books, and all kinds of other silly things that most people couldn’t care less about. However, one thing that I have noticed is that oftentimes a good story is made up of lots of different individuals struggling against a common enemy. For example, in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, there are numerous heroes. You have Gandalf, Aragorn, Frodo, Legolas, Gimli, and the list goes on. All of them are working to defeat one big baddie, Sauron. The Chronicles of Narnia is a bit different though. In it you still have a lot of heroes struggling against a common enemy like the White Witch, but none of them remotely stand a chance until Aslan steps up onto the scene. When he comes in – the battle is almost instantly over.
Our salvation is a bit like that. We may have a lot of different “heroes” helping us toward God or encouraging us to not fall into gross sin. But until Jesus steps into the picture, no one has a remote possibility of succeeding. It requires Jesus. And once we invite Him into our personal battlefield, the victory is immediate. Now, it may take some time to see that victory play out but rest assured: the victory is certain.
The story of how this all plays out in your life is most certainly different than in mine. However, that is what gives you a unique testimony. And that testimony is something that should not be kept from the world. It should be shared! Now, I know that it can be daunting to share your testimony. That is why we have created a few easily accessible helps to guide you through how to share your testimony with others. Especially with those closest to you.
Who were you before you began a relationship with Jesus?
What were your main priorities?
What was the things that you found value in?
What was your source of happiness?
How did you come into a relationship with Jesus?
Where did you first hear the Gospel?
Who played an instrumental part in your conversion?
What did that mean to you?
Who are you now that you have began this relationship with Jesus?
What does your life revolve around now?
How does your outlook differentiate between the old you and now?
What does your future in Christ look like?
These are just meant to be simple guides to get you thinking and help you work out how to share your testimony with others. Try and practice. Come up with a way to share your testimony in two minutes or less. This way it becomes natural and easy to incorporate in casual conversations without seeming mechanical.
