Faith Memorial Church
The History of Faith Memorial Church
The vision for Faith Memorial Church was first cultivated in the heart of Reverend M.E. Littlefield. A man of God filled with a supernatural love and compassion for the people of Cleveland and Bradley County, TN. God birthed a vision in Pastor Littlefield, for a ministry to the poor and needy of this community. It was from that vision that Faith Memorial Church and its many ministries was born.
The Church began as the Cleveland Evangelistic Center in 1945. That same year, Brother Littlefield began what is today the oldest continuing religious radio broadcast in Bradley County. Our current location was dedicated by William Branham in 1959. The transcript of this dedication service is availableĀ here. It was at this time that the name was changed to Faith Memorial Church. Though our name has changed, our vision has not. We still maintain a passion for Christ and compassion for the people of our community. The outreach ministries of Faith Memorial Church continue to care for hundreds of people each year.
Faith Memorial has been honored by the city of Cleveland for its well-known outreach ministries which have consisted of nursing home services, prayer meetings, food distribution, clothing, household items, and Childrenās Christmas empty stocking events. Many of these ministries still operate today. In addition, Faith Memorial was the first church in Bradley County to establish regular church services structured for people with physical and mental handicaps.
Over the years Faith Memorial has been the catalyst for many great revivals in Cleveland and Bradley County. Ministers such as William Branham, Kenneth E. Hagin, Lester Sumrall, W.V. Grant Sr., John Osteen, and many others have spoken at Faith Memorial Church since its foundation. Reverend Norvel Hayes began his ministry learning from and serving with Brother Littlefield. We lovingly hold on to this rich heritage of faith, knowing that this is a foundation of good soil that God will continue to bless.
You will never have to advertise a fire. Everyone comes running when there's a fire. Likewise, if your church is on fire, you will not have to advertise it. The community will already know it.
